TYHA has taken a proactive approach to growing and developing goaltenders. This is done through goalie advisement, practice plan review, and encouragement of more goalie inclusion within teams.  Anthony Carollo is a Silver level USA Hockey Goalie Coach Developer, a Goalie Development Leader (GDL), and soon to be Goalie Development Coordinator (GDC) under USA Hockey for the state of Michigan. During the 2022-2023 fall season, he completed the USA Hockey Silver Goaltender Developer course in Boston, MA and got to learn from some of the greatest goalie developers within USA hockey, juniors, NCAA, ECHL, AHL, and even the NHL! Anthony attended the USA Hockey's Goalie Nation Summit weekend in June of 2023 and was able to make connections with over 45 GDC's and professional goalie coaches throughout the United states. Continuing education coaching events allows Anthony to stay informed and educated on goalie trends and development trajectories.

Throughout the 2022-2023 season,  Anthony has introduced basic goaltending principals to mini-mite and mite aged players. This has resulted in many players now excited to try or be a goalie! This was made possible through the use of new Vaughn quick change goalie gear donated directly to the association by Mike Vaughn himself! 

TYHA recognizes the importance of developing goalies and are proud to offer goaltending clinics absolutely free to all TYHA registered goalies throughout the season! The clinics are designed to keep the focus solely on the goaltenders while they work on depth, puck tracking, footwork, angles, recovery, and fun! 

MUST REGISTER 3 DAYS IN ADVANCED OF ANY CLINIC DATE.

2024 -2025 In-season Goalie Clinics are scheduled! First clinic is Saturday, October 12th 4:15-5:30pm. Must pre-register here. Clinics are capped at 15 goalies per session, $20 to non-TYHA goalies.
